Brilliant Spheres Crystals came into being in 1989 when my brother Barry began importing and wholesaling crystal jewellery. It was a time when interest in all things metaphysical was growing and Barry quickly recognised the demand for quality crystals and New Age products. With a background in design and sales and a lifetime love of crystals I was delighted to join Barry in his new business. Our creed then, as it still is today, was to base our business on selling quality crystals and gemstones, giving good and reliable customer service and sourcing and creating beautiful products to inspire the mind and make the spirit soar.
Within six months we moved the business to premises in Glebe. The business continued to grow, and as well as travelling the world sourcing crystals and products we began to design and create a range of unique gemstone inspired giftware. At the same time we started working with Swarovski lead crystal, up until then their chandelier components had been hung on wire or strung with a few beads. Our fascination with Swarovski lead to our Sun Catchers TM, we invented and created Zodiac, Feng Shui, Wishing Stars, Star Child, Crystal Clusters, Colour Rays the list is long and continues to grow.
Within eighteen months we outgrew our Glebe showroom and went in search of a new home. We bought our new, bright, airy premises in Camperdown, close to the CBD, and set about creating a beautiful showroom where our customers could come to select their stock with parking at the door and good coffee to drink.
In 1995 we were approached by Harper Collins Publishers to write a crystal book. The result was "The Magic of Crystals" first published in 1996 then reprinted in 1997.
Over the years our business has evolved and grown. At it's heart are always the crystals, gemstones and the amazing Swarovski components which have been the inspiration for our vast range of products.
In the past few years we have focused once again on the product that we first started with, jewellery. We have expanded this division extensively and our Sydney workshop, under the BSC Design brand, now designs and creates a stunning range of unique sterling silver, Swarovski crystal and gemstone beaded jewellery. Our love of beads has led to us opening a components division and we now stock a comprehensive range of fabulous semi-precious gemstone and 925 sterling silver beads.
Whilst we have sourced crystals and products from around the world we have always had a strong belief in supporting Australian made. To this end we are pround that BSC Design is designed and made in here.
As to the future of Brilliant Spheres Crystals, Barry and I are still as excited and enthusiastic as we were at the start. We have a myriad of ideas to work on and we take absolute delight and joy in the business that we have created. We sincerely thank our loyal customers for their continued support and look forward to taking Brilliant Spheres Crystals and BSC Design to new heights in the future.
